Decided to clean my gallery. That was an overdue choire, with all the crap and idiotic stuff my mind sprouted these last couple years. Actually, I should say in the last 6 years, since I joined this community.

I will from forward on try to get better at taking pictures. Get a better camera. Mine is okay, but I feel limited by the APS-C size censor. I need something full frame.

And I need to get out again and make friends.

So, here I go again. With my once in a year journal update hahaha.

So yeah. Got a new lense again (which seems to be the only thing making me post here) and it's wonderful. It's a Tokina Fisheye 10-17mm F3.5-4.5 DX. It features special coated glass for the outer optic to reduce refraction, internal focus and a real smooth auto focus motor.

I'll have to get used to it, but on the long term, it's probably gonna become one of my favorite tools.

I've also started a new serie of photos. I will be really picky about it, but hopefuly, it will turn into a real nice portfolio. It's called MiT. Short for Montreal in Technicolor.

And since I moved downtown, I'll have plenty of opportunities to shoot for it.

Well, it's been a while I haven't posted anything here. Been a while since I actually picked up my camera and did something of it. But hell! If I bought a prime lense a couple weeks ago, it's not to let it be alone in it's box.

So... It's doing miraculous work for close range and protraits, but forget wide shots. The focus range doesn't have the same effect on city scapes or panos. I guess I'll have to find a prime tele lense for that. Also, I'm going to be racking up my money for a TSE-45. Or 90 maybe. not sure, but ptobably a 45. This way, I can use it with my Rebel Xt without too much cropping.

Anyway, I'll post maybe a few more and then disapear for another few months.

UPDATE:

As of tonight, we also got this guy britinho.deviantart.com/ banned via an admin for submitting pornographic content. He stole picture from adult websites and put the "borderline" ones (undertsand they break the rules, but I hope no body says anything). No one can get away with murder.

I think this proverb fits the situation just right.

This is a heads up on a situation about

This person had (up until a few minutes ago) a gallery full of stolen artworks and crafts.

Many people pointed it out to her, to which she replied that they were not. Comments had been left on her page as well as journal entries. All were hiden or removed, and the journal entries have all been deleted.

We reported this to the Help desk. Their answer was "No can do, you're not the copyright's owner".
They also told us that we could still report every single piece by hand. Not an easy task. But we managed it, thanks to the help of TinEye, and reported all the ones we found. That means out of the 50 more deviations she had, about 30 were reported by us, as well as other people.

That was about 3 weeks ago.

I just got notes and all, and I mean all of it, the stolen works were taken down. Nothing is left.

I just wanted to let this out to tell people: Art thieves are not invicible. It's not because you suspect something is stolen, but you have no proof, that they are not guilty.

One way you can try (and it's easy) is with this search engine www.tineye.com

It lets you search backward, using an image and telling you were else it can be find. And we did found a lot. Trust me.

So, next time you see some stolent work, be kind, report.
